Man arrested, weapons and drugs seized at Kitchener break-in

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male after responding to a break and enter in Kitchener.

On Oct. 1, at approximately 8:15 p.m., police responded to a break-and-enter in progress at a business on Belmont Avenue West. Officers arrived and located a male inside a store. The male was arrested.

During the investigation, officers located and seized a baton, brass knuckles, a conducted energy weapon and a machete. Suspected oxycodone, fentanyl, morphine, cocaine, codeine and hydromorphone was also seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Kitchener male was charged with:

  • Break and enter commit theft
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon (two counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts)
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (six counts)

The male was held for a bail hearing.
