During a nine-day stretch, Waterloo Regional Police received five reports of distraction thefts.
The thefts, which happened between Oct. 29 and Nov. 6, happened at area grocery stores and saw wallets taken from shopping carts.
Police say the targets were older adults.
Anyone else who may have been a victim is asked to contact police.
