Cambridge couple charged in connection with October stabbing in Kitchener

Two months after a man was stabbed during an altercation in Kitchener, a 27-year-old Cambridge man is facing assault charges and a 27-year-old Cambridge woman has been arrested for being an accessory.

Waterloo regional police completed a search warrant a residence in Cambridge earlier today to make the arrests related to an incident reported in Kitchener on Oct. 6.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing in the area of Victoria Street North and St. Leger Street around 5:30 a.m. that day

One male was located with injuries and was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a Cambridge man has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with weapon (two counts), and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

A Cambridge woman was also charged with accessory after the fact of aggravated assault. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 9.
