John Thomas Wade, age 89, of Cambridge, Ontario passed away with his family by his side, at Grand River Hospital on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Predeceased by Mary Wade and his son Douglas (1963), he is the loving father of Wanda Tremblett (Al Evans), Glen Wade (Barbra), Jackie Mader (John), and Lisa Wade-Cox (Jeff). Dear Grandfather of Christine (Trevor), the late Kyle Tremblett, Sara and Jacob. Loving friend of Gloria Gautreau. Survived by his sister Anne Marie Davis (the late Michael), Marion Bonia (Allen), and his brother Ray Wade (the late Elizabeth). Predeceased by his parents John and Catherine and siblings; Walter, Bill, Richard, Margaret, Teresa (Basil), Mary. Lovingly remembered by his in-laws Helen, Dorothy, Tom and many nieces and nephews. John's incredible sense of humour and practical jokes will be well remembered for many years, the stories being passed down through generations. With his passing the Leafs have lost a fan.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Thursday, October 3rd from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Clement's Parish 745 Duke Street, on Friday October 4th at 10:00 am.
