January 25, 1948 – September 24, 2024

Wayne passed away peacefully in his sleep after a lovely evening at home with family celebrating the birthday of his devoted and heartbroken wife Janice (Menary) on September 24, 2024. We couldn't know it was going to be our last night together. Despite being plagued by serious health issues over the last few years, his passing was still unexpected.

His loss will be profoundly felt by his beloved daughter Jocelyn Seeley-Baechler and her husband Dan Seeley-Baechler, who was like a son to Wayne, and by their children, Wayne's adored grandchildren, Gavin, Brynn, Claudia, Nathan & Ben Seeley-Baechler.

Wayne will be deeply missed by his step-daughter, Leann Schiel (Don), who was every bit his daughter, as well as step-children Sam, Aaron and Whitney.

Wayne was a cherished brother to Diane Green, brother-in-law to David Menary (Sarah), and uncle to Sandy, Chrissy, Jamie, Amanda, Mike & Lori. He leaves behind many wonderful lifelong friends including Gerry, Carol, and Nick.

Predeceased by his parents Murray (1992) & Jean Seeley (1996) and siblings Patti (2024) and Daryl (2022).

Born on Robbie Burns Day in Kitchener, ON, January 25, 1948, Wayne was a proud lifelong resident of Cambridge, Ontario. He spent most of his years in West Galt, attending both Southwood Secondary and Glenview Park and later the University of Waterloo.

Wayne was a true character and a man of his own mould. Though his wording could be brusque, Wayne always wanted the best for those he loved...ideally done his way and on his timeline. He was a go-to source for many people for advice, info or assistance in many areas. A man of high intelligence and wide ranging interests, professionally and personally, Wayne held roles in a number of industries in his life (business, finance, engineering, management).

Wayne had a wicked sense of humour, loved old cars and fast cars, was an enthusiastic adopter of new technology, had incredible taste in music and stereo systems, still flew with the young guns in flight sim PC games even in retirement, dominated trivia, and was a huge fan of Sci-Fi TV & movies. As a man dedicated to family tradition and heritage, Wayne loved to see many of these same passions in his beautiful grandchildren, and was honoured that they carried his name.

Our family extends our gratitude to Mark and the many healthcare providers involved in Wayne's care at home and in hospital this last year.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a private interment at Mount View Cemetery.

Wayne's love, influence, and memory will be carried on.
