On April 18, 2021 we said goodbye to Brenda Anne O’Toole. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 65.
Brenda was the kindest, most caring and loving woman you ever met. She was a garage sale aficionado, a master in the kitchen and garden, and a family historian, with a passion for tracking the family tree. She was immensely devoted and loyal, to the company she dedicated over 40 years to, and ever more so to her friends and family. For them she loved fiercely.
Brenda’s favourite quote was “I love you,” something she said frequently and encouraged those around her to as well. Because of her, those who knew her live more openly and love more deeply. For that, we will forever be grateful. Because of her, we will forever be loved.
Brenda was a loving wife to Martin for 43 years. She was the ever-caring mother to boys Timothy, Joey and Colin and the ever-guiding light to daughters-in-law Jen, Kayra, Alexandria and Kara. The job she loved the most was Nanny to Keinen, Shea, Clover, Hailey, and Roxy. With a family the size of a traditional clan, she will be greatly missed by both the Whetham and O’Toole families. Brenda is predeceased by her daughter Amanda, her parents, Harvey and Agnes Whetham, as well as brothers John (Pat), Dennis (Debbie) and Jerry (Judy), sister-in-law Mille Hookey (John deceased), and brother-in-law Tommy O’Toole (Phyllis deceased).
She will also be missed by siblings Marlene (late John), Glen (Linda), Doreen (Jim), Brian (Debbie), and Neil (Lynn); siblings-in law Mary Adams (Richard), Shirley Lawlor, Margaret O’Toole, Pat O’Toole, John O’Toole (Marian), Edward O’Toole, Kit Winsor (George), Cindy Taylor (Bob), and obviously, based on the list above, many, many nieces and nephews.
