Loretta Joan O’Brien passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the age of 83.
Loretta loved to go to church, and she enjoyed baking all sorts of goodies (we will miss her blueberry cheesecake, breads, and squares). She enthusiastically cheered for both the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. She also camped with her husband James for over 40 years and had many happy memories from those trips. Loretta will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her son Jim, daughter Donna (Adam), granddaughters Courtnee (Jonathon) and Ashley (Scott), and three precious great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth Young, brother Leo Young, sister Yvonne Badcock, and brother Fredrick Young. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Parish (53 Wellington Street, Cambridge) on Wednesday, August 25th at 10:30 am. Cremation will follow, and Loretta’s urn will be laid to rest with her husband at Mount View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
