With great sadness, her family announces that Jadwiga passed away peacefully at Marian Residence, Cambridge, on July 12, 2021 at the age of 93.
She is reunited with her beloved husband Peter (d. 1975).
Beloved mother of Mark (Teresa) and loving Babcia of Isabella. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister in-law Zofia and extended family.
She is predeceased by her parents Jan and Maria Chomieniec, sister Janina, and brothers Tadeusz, Stanislaw, and Antoni.
Jadwiga was born in Lwow, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1960. She worked at various places over the years but mainly at Kralinator Filters for 15 years.
She enjoyed travelling, gardening, had a good sense of humour, and was a very devout person. Her faith was a very important part of her life but most important was her family.
The family wish to thank the staff, the Sisters, and volunteers at Marian Residence for their compassionate care these last few years, especially Danuta who spoke to her in Polish. That was very much appreciated by both Jadwiga and her family.
Family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Friday, July 16th for visitation from 6 - 8 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement's Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Parklawn Cemetery. All guests must provide their information for contract tracing, wear masks, social distance, and follow the directions of the funeral home staff.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Marian Residence in lieu of flowers.
