Hugh Murray Fox was born June 30, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario. He peacefully passed away Dec 20, 2024 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
He is predeceased by his wife Judy Fox and parents Elsie and Hugh J Fox of Toronto. He is survived by his four children Reg Fox of Calgary, Shelagh Fox of Thornbury, Hugh Fox (Beverley) of Cambridge and John Fox of Cambridge as well as grandchildren Georgia Fox, Sarah Fox, and Murray Fox.
Hugh grew up in Toronto and lived a full life attending UTS school and Western University for Business along with memberships at The Granite Club, Rosedale Golf and The Briars of Sutton. He was an avid sportsman playing tennis at Victoria Park in Galt as well as Golf at The Galt Country Club.
He led a successful and varied career starting with sales at Stauffer Dobbie’s of Galt in the late 1950s to Canada Coal then Bauer Hockey and Sherwood Hockey sticks travelling the world. In later life he went on to Terra Footwear as their first Sales Manager.
Much of his life was centred around his family, dogs and their beloved cottage on Lake Simcoe “Lee Farm” playing tennis and sailing. He had a strong friend group in “The Dog Lakers” and spent many a great trip into Algonquin with the gang.
He had a tremendous sense of humour that he generously shared with all that encountered him. He is sorely missed by family and friends alike.
