It’s with heavy hearts, that the family of Donald Daniel Davidson share his passing on August 18 2024 at the age of 94. Cherished by his wife of 73 years, Virginia, his children Susan Weissenboeck (Arno), Cindy Goetz (Nick), Lynn, and Scott (AngeLis), 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by his siblings Margaret Houghtaling, Ken Davidson, and Gwen Naylor. Predeceased by siblings, Robert, Dorothy Remmington, Gordon, Norman, and Art, as well as son-in-law Blake Pincoe.
Don was a Preston boy through and through. He was born, raised, lived, laughed and loved, in the area. He was born on a farm, located in what is now Dumfries Conservation Area.
His hard work ethic, found him employment at Canadian Buffalo Sled Company, Eltherington Market, Preston Furniture Factory, Schmidt Furniture, Maple Leaf Dairy, and eventually in Kitchener, at Weston Bakeries.
Over the years, he was a flag bearer for the Preston Scout Band, volunteer with Preston Minor Hockey Association, and involved with his church. In later years, Don’s passion was sitting alongside Virginia watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren swim in their pool, celebrating birthdays and special holidays together. His strong sense of family was reinforced through living his life to the fullest.
