JANUARY 18, 1938 – OCTOBER 1, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Krystyna Maria Boehnert (Kowalewski, nee Stolfa) at the age of 85. Krystyna is predeceased by her parents, Jerzy & Halina Stolfa, her first husband, Wojciech Dolega-Kowlewski, and her second husband, Gunnar Boehnert.
Beloved mother of Monika (Dawn Kowalewski), Isabella (Curt Grob) and Peter (Beth Lennox) Kowalewski, as well as step-mother to Jennifer (Joel Davis) and Jody Boehnert. Cherished grandmother of James & Owen Kowalewski, Ilyse Grob and Charlie Davis.
Krystyna was born on January 18th, 1938, in Krakow, Poland, and came to Canada in 1956 to join her father Jerzy Stolfa. She studied Geography at the University of Ottawa and dreamt of marrying a cowboy. Instead, she married an engineer, had 3 children and built a beautiful life in Cambridge, Ontario. She loved spending time with her family & friends, and also loved to cook, travel, and entertain in her home. She will always be remembered for her positive attitude, good nature, and contagious smile.
We are all devastated by her unexpected passing, but thankful she did not suffer, and that she was able to remain in the home she loved so much until her last day.
There will be a celebration of life at her residence on Friday, October 6th, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, at 1793 West River Road, Cambridge, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, Krystyna has requested that a donation be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or an organization of your choice.
