Cambridge RedHawks get an OHL boost on the back end

Defenceman Kaden Schneider is joining the Cambridge RedHawks.

The Cambridge RedHawks received a late Christmas present on Friday.

The team announced its added defenceman Kaden Schneider from the Ontario Hockey League's Kitchener Rangers.

A native of Calgary, Alta, Schneider suited up in 13 games with the Rangers this season and recorded an assist. 

Prior to coming east, he played for the Calgary Flames U18AAA program.

The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League is in the midst of its holiday break.

Cambridge returns to action on Jan. 2 when they travel to Hamilton to take on the Kilty B's at 7:07 p.m. Hamilton then comes to Galt Arena Gardens on Jan. 4 for a 7 p.m. puck drop to complete the home-and-home.

The RedHawks currently sit in sixth place in the GOJHL's Eastern Conference with a 16-12-2-1 record and are just two points behind fourth place Port Colborne.
