It may be the middle of summer but the Cambridge RedHawks are already thinking about the colder days ahead.
The team announced their home opener date and opponent on Monday.
The RedHawks welcome the Pelham Panthers to Galt Arena Gardens on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
This season's schedule will look different than years past as the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League has realigned its conferences, going from three to two.
It's been a busy offseason for the RedHawks as they came under new ownership and coaching staff.
In April, the former owners of the GOJHL's Brantford Bandits, Eric Boissonneault, Rob McIntosh, JP Boileau, Jason Stangl, Troy Futher, Blake Secard and Greg Shoniker, acquired the team from Scott and Kelly Hunter.
They then named Mike McIlveen as the new head coach.
The 2024-25 GOJHL schedule is expected to be released in the coming days.
