The Cambridge Rivulettes are playing their annual Pink in the Rink game on Oct. 25.

Donning special pink jerseys, the Cambridge Rivulettes will hit the ice against the Oakville Hornets on Friday night for their annual Pink in the Rink game in support of cancer research.

As part of the night, donations will collected along with a bake sale, chuck-a-puck and 50/50 draw that sees all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The game comes just weeks after the Cambridge RedHawks raised over $5,000 for the same cause.

"We know everyone has been touched by cancer in one way or another," Rivulettes assistant coach Kelly Potocky said.

"We hope the players take away that we're playing for something bigger than hockey and supporting initiatives like this is part of who we are."

Cancer awareness has been a priority all month for the team as they've been wearing the pink jerseys at every home game in October.

They'll wear them one final time on Friday as a local mother of three fighting breast cancer joins them for the ceremonial faceoff.

Members of the Cambridge Roadrunners Girls Hockey Association will also be on-hand.

"We're looking forward to seeing lots of Roadrunners in the stands and joining us on the ice for our pre-game ceremonies," Potocky said.

"From this game, and this initiative, we're trying to do our part to raise awareness to get checked, be proactive about your health and support the Canadian Cancer Society to ultimately end this disease."

Fans are being encouraged to wear pink.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Galt Arena Gardens.
