ENVIRONMENT CANADA
****************************
Blowing snow advisory in effect for:
    •    Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
    •    Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo

Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow expected Saturday.

Hazards:
    •    Strong winds gusting between 70 and 80 km/h.
    •    Areas of near zero visibility in snow and blowing snow.
    •    Snow accumulations of 5 to 10 cm possible.

Timing:
Saturday morning and afternoon.

Discussion:
An Alberta Clipper will bring strong winds and snow to southern Ontario on Saturday. Snow will begin across the region tonight. With the passage of a cold front in the morning, very strong northwesterly winds are expected to develop causing hazardous blowing snow conditions. Strong winds will weaken gradually Saturday evening.

Impacts:
Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least three hours.
