The next two days will offer plenty of opportunities for holiday laggards to shop for gifts, stock the pantry, or fill the beer fridge.

Although nobody should have trouble finding alcohol during the holidays with recent changes to who can sell, Cambridge Beer Store locations and LCBO outlets are keeping the lights on longer this year and will only be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Local craft breweries are an option too.

Grocery stores in town are closed Christmas Day but many are open the rest of the week under modified hours.

The Cambridge Centre Zehrs, for example, is closing its doors at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will open them again for regular hours Boxing Day.

Check online for your favourite store's holiday hours.

Like most retailers, Cambridge Centre mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve for that essential last minute shopping.

On Boxing Day, shoppers eager to use their gift cards, can join the masses at the mall starting at 10 a.m.

Check retail websites of your favourite stores for their hours before lining up for deals.

The mall is closed Christmas and New Year's Day but open New Year's Eve from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

City-run facilities will have modified hours over the holidays.

Cambridge City Hall offices will be closed December 24 at noon and won't reopen until Jan. 2 at 8:30 a.m. The same holiday hours apply for cemetery and fire administration offices.
