There’s lots of Halloween themed activities and events for residents to enjoy around Cambridge this weekend.

Friday, Oct. 28

Hespeler Village Pumpkin Event

Hespeler Village - Tannery and Queen, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

A community event for all ages, residents can come and take home a free pumpkin. There will be goodie bags for kids, a RE/MAX Kidzone with balloons and bubbles, a fall-themed photo booth and free hot chocolate. Donations will also be collected for the food drive.

“The Dark Side of Galt” Walking Tour

89 Grand Avenue South, 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Join in on this walk to discover stories of disasters, hauntings and other unsavoury events that make up part of Galt’s dark history.

Opening Night at Hamilton Family Theatre: Good ol’ Country Gospel

46 Grand Ave. S, 7:30 p.m.

An inspirational musical tribute to Gospel with a country twist, this show hits the stage on Friday and will play until Nov. 12.

Old Post Office Digital Light Show

12 Water St S, 8:00 - 9:30 p.m.

A light show will be projected on the facade of the Old Post Office. Shows begin every half hour and residents can tune into 92.5 on their radio to listen to choreographed music.

 

Saturday, Oct. 29

Cambridge Farmers' Market

40 Dickson St., 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

A central community food hub, the market features 26 year round vendors and 30 seasonal vendors.

Halloween (Samhain) Family Fun Day

89 Grand Avenue S, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Residents are invited to McDougall Cottage for a family fun day full of games, crafts, free homemade toffee samples and more. The first 50 kids in attendance will receive a free Halloween-themed cupcake and all kids will receive a Halloween treat.

Halloween Photo Booth and Ghost Hunt

Wear a costume or try our props for some spooky fun photos using the green screen in the Creative Studios. Once you've had a laugh, try to find the hidden ghosts in the building-wide Ghost Scavenger hunt at the Old Post Office Idea Exchange on Water Street South.

A Ghost Outing in Cambridge

Traffic Circle – Corner of Grant St and Kenmore Ave, 5 p.m.

Described as an escape room, scavenger hunt, geocaching and The Amazing Race all in one, this event challenges your ghost defence skills.

Old Post Office Digital Light Show

12 Water St S, 8:00 - 9:30 p.m.

 

Sunday, Oct. 30

Howl-O-Ween

1610 Dunbar Rd, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The third annual Howl-O-Ween walk and family fun day is the Cambridge District Humane Society’s largest community event. A vendor market, door prizes, Beavertails Food Truck, pets and games are all part of the festivities.

Old Post Office tours

12 Water Street South, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Residents can tour the Old Post Office filled with resources and activities. Wear a costume and get your photo taken in the Creative Space with the green screen behind you.
