VIDEO: Cambridge celebrates a rainy Remembrance Day

Hundreds of people gathered in Cambridge to honour those who lost their lives in times of war and pay tribute to those who have served in the armed forces

Hundreds of people gathered in Cambridge to honour those who lost there lives in times of war and pay tribute to those who have served in the armed forces. 

On a rainy Remembrance Day, each of the three downtown cores in Galt, Hespeler and Preston held individual celebrations. Each part of the city have their own cenotaph dedicated to those in the area who served during the war. 

People gathered along Margaret and Westminster streets to watch the Legion and cadet colour parties march to the Preston cenotaph where hundreds gathered to view the Remembrance Day service. 

In Galt at Queen's Square, which was the largest of the three events, had people lining the entire park to watch as the Galt Legion marched in wreaths were laid in honour of those who had served and those who did not make it out.

At the Hespeler cenotaph on Queen street, people packed the square to pay tribute to the veterans from the area. Prayers and songs rang out through the speakers as the rain fell on spectators.
