TW Properties, with support from the Gooder Foundation, launched their annual “Food for Dollars” campaign on Nov. 12 to benefit the
Cambridge Food Bank and Porchlight Counselling and Addiction Services.
For every pound of non-perishable food donated by the public through the campaign, TW Properties will donate one dollar to Porchlight Counselling and Addiction Services. As in past years, the Gooder Foundation has committed to matching TW Properties’ cash donation – meaning that each pound of food donated to benefit the Cambridge Food Bank creates a two-dollar donation for Porchlight.
“We’re incredibly grateful to TW Properties for choosing to support our work this year,” said Cameron Dearlove, Porchlight’s Executive Director. “As a close partner of the Cambridge Food Bank, we know what this support means to them at this time of year and it’s incredibly generous of TW Properties to extend the impact of their food drive by supporting another charity every year as
well,”
Now in its seventh year, the Food for Dollars campaign has collected 23,290 pounds of food for the food bank and donated a total of $43,940 to local charities.
Heather Emberley, manager of the Food for Dollars campaign, said, “We’ve seen this campaign grow enormously since it was launched in 2018, and we hope thisyear’s will be the largest yet to support these two great causes”.
Donations of non-perishable food items can be made between the dates of Nov. 12 and Dec. 12, on weekdays at the offices of TW Properties (135 Thompson Drive, Suite 3) or Porchlight Counselling and Addiction Services (1315 Bishop St. N. Suite 203).
