The region will offer an online seminar to help candidates run for their local municipality.

‘So You Want to Run for Council?’ is an online workshop being held on May 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The organizers say the information session will provide candidates with the tools they need to be a successful counsellor.

“This free virtual workshop will give you an understanding of what is involved in running for council. It will explain the role, duties and responsibilities for elected officials and how public office may impact your life if elected,” said the Region of Waterloo in a press release.

Candidates can start the nomination process for the municipal and school board elections on May 2 up until May 19.

Voting day for the municipal election is October 24.

For those looking to attend the seminar, more information can be found on the city of Cambridge’s website

The event will be held by Zoom and people looking to register can sign up here
