Seasons Cambridge Retirement Community is pleased to announce a donation of 486 canned goods to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank. Between July 1 and 12, Seasons Cambridge held its annual ‘One Can Make a Difference’ company-wide challenge to collect the most canned and non-perishable food items for their local food bank.

Every year, Seasons Retirement Communities in Ontario and Alberta come together to make a positive impact in the communities in which they operate and that residents call home. While the goal was to collect a total of 7,000 cans across all Seasons Retirement Communities, 9543 cans were collected company-wide. Notably, this year saw 3,167 more cans compared to 2023.

"Our residents' remarkable participation in this year's 'One Can Make a Difference' challenge fills us with pride," says Matt Lehnen, General Manager at Seasons Cambridge. "This program highlights the compassionate spirit of Seasons Retirement Communities."

According to Food Banks Canada, 1.9 million visits were reported as of March 2023, up a record-breaking 32.1% from the previous year and 78.5% compared to March 2019. As of 2023, Statistics Canada reported Ontario had a food insecurity rate of 19.2%, and Alberta had a rate of 21.8%.
