Rhythm and Blues Cambridge will honour 30 years of Black History Month in Canada with two events that celebrate the richness, resilience, and creativity of Black communities.
The historic milestone will be celebrated through art, movement, music, and storytelling, and Rhythm and Blues invites everyone to reflect on the past, embrace the present, and envision a future rooted in unity and empowerment.
Since its official recognition in Canada in 1995, Black History Month has been a time to acknowledge and celebrate the profound contributions of Black Canadians.
From culture and activism to innovation and leadership, Black communities have shaped this nation’s history in immeasurable ways. However, this month is also a call to action, a reminder to continue the fight for equity, representation, and justice.
For Rhythm & Blues Cambridge, Black History Month is more than a celebration; it's a reaffirmation of our mission to create safe spaces for Black joy, healing, and connection.
As a Black-women-led grassroots organization, Rhythm and Blues works year-round to uplift and engage Black individuals and families in Cambridge and the wider Waterloo Region.
