Region of Waterloo Public Health has announced dates and locations for its neighbourhood bus stops throughout the fall.

Through a partnership with Grand River Transit, the bus is retrofitted to serve as a clinic on wheels to provide vaccines, sexual healthcare, harm reduction, prenatal care, access to nurses and other supports in areas like mental and dental health by offering options and connections to community services.

The bus will be at Preston Heights Community Centre on Oct. 10 and Dec. 5 and the Greenway Chaplin Community Centre Oct. 22 and Dec. 10.

It's also making stops at Fiddlesticks Community Centre on Oct. 24 and Dec. 12 and the Kinbridge Community Centre on Oct. 30 and Dec. 4,

It will be at each location from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"The public health neighbourhood bus is a part of our neighbourhood health strategy of meeting people where they are," Amber White, manager of clinical services and outreach for the Region of Waterloo Public Health, said earlier this year.

"It can act as an entry point to equitable health services, like receiving childhood and seasonal vaccines. It operates alongside the neighbourhood nursing team to reach community members who may not have easy access to health support."
