Preston BIA extends byelection nomination deadline

Nominations are now due by Oct. 11

The Preston BIA byelection is scheduled for Oct. 16.

The Preston Business Improvement Area has extended the nomination period for its board of management byelection until Oct. 11.

Nominations originally closed on Sept. 13 with an election date of Sept.18.

The new election date is set for Oct. 16.

To be nominated, an individual must operate a business or own a property within the designated BIA area.

The BIA is made up of local business and property owners who organize, finance and carry out physical improvements and promote economic development in the area.

It serves as a liaison and consultant to council and city staff on programs, planning issues, services, bylaws, activities and initiatives and represents the opinions and expectations of its membership.
