There will soon be another option for Cambridge residents to purchase their alcoholic beverages as a new LCBO location is coming to the corner of Hespeler and Dunbar roads.
"The LCBO is pleased to open another store in the growing Cambridge community,” George Soleas, LCBO president and CEO said in an email response to CambridgeToday that confirmed March 24 as the opening day.
"With close proximity to other amenities, this new location offers customers enhanced convenience. Our store employees look forward to showing you our robust selection of beer, wine and spirits.”
The opening comes just weeks after the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) released a report about alcohol use, stating people should limit their consumption to no more than two drinks per week.
The recommendations from report, which was funded by Health Canada, is a drastic change from previous guidelines set out in 2011 that stated men could consume up to 15 drinks per week and women up to 10.
Consuming more than two drinks per week now constitutes a moderate health risk according to the report.
