Musicians are taking to Galt every Thursday until Oct. 3 as part of the Main Street Music Series.

If residents of Galt listen closely, they can hear the sound of music bellowing from lower Main Street every Thursday evening.

It's all part of a partnership between the Downtown Cambridge Business Improvement Area and E-Bolt Music to put on the Main Street Music Series.

Coinciding with the street closure, the mini concerts provide both entertainment to residents and opportunities for local musicians.

While the series began in 2021, the idea dates back even further.

"The partnership with the BIA had helped prior by funding our Backlot Sessions and then throughout COVID lockdowns with online performance opportunities for artists," Eric Bolton, owner of E-Bolt Music, said.

"E-Bolt Music has been creating live music opportunities for the community and local artists for over a decade, with the aim to support musicians while also attempting to add to the culture and experience of the downtown core."

Different artists take to the street each week between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the show moves inside to one of the storefronts along the street.

Bolton sees the series as a perfect fit for a core in search of diverse offerings to draw people in and promote local business.

"We hope this is a great reason to come hangout and utilize the public space to socialize and take in the arts, while perhaps checking out some of the wonderful businesses in the area," he said.

"We also hope these performances are opportunities to learn more about the talented artists within this beautiful community."

The series runs until Oct. 3.
