Anniversaries are always special, especially when celebrating a decade of giving back to a community that has supported the ones you dearly love. This is Nicole Guse’s driving purpose behind the return of Guse Productions’ Sounds of Christmas Musical in support of KidsAbility.
Now in its 10th year, the mesmerizing performance includes a range of holiday music from multi-generational performers and award-winning musicians.
What makes this event truly special is Nicole’s personal connection to the local organization. Her son, Joshua, once a child with speech and sensory issues, attended therapy at KidsAbility School. Now, he's a young man thriving in university, a testament to early intervention in rehabilitation services and support. Each fall, he returns as one of the lead vocal and dance performers.
KidsAbility leads in providing pediatric rehabilitation across Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington. Yearly, the organization empowers over 17,000 children and youth from birth to age 21 to achieve their communication, social, physical, and behavioural goals and realize their potential.
"To give back to KidsAbility on a grander scale while at the same time bringing the community together to enjoy the holiday season; this is a dream come true,” shares Guse, who produces, performs and directs the entire production. “The Sounds of Christmas is a show that both children and adults will enjoy with every ticket purchase supporting children and youth with disabilities."
From traditional favourites to new treasures, country, rock 'n' roll, and gospel, the performance has become a cherished tradition for many families, kicking off the holiday season with a heartwarming message of hope, unity and community support.
Seven performances are planned from Nov. 28 to Dec. 7 at WMB Church, 245 Lexington Road, Waterloo, with tickets for purchase online.
