There were plenty of smiles Wednesday as representatives from Tim Hortons and Saint Luke's Place gathered to distribute a portion of the proceeds from this year's Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.
The Cambridge long-term care home received a cheque for 36,777.88.
The donation was generated through the sale of Holiday Smile Cookies across 14 restaurants in the city.
"When we received the dollar amount raised during the week, I thought, ‘wow! that’s many cookies!’” Amy Ross, director of fundraising at SLP, said in a release.
"Thank you to the whole community for working together to support seniors within Cambridge.”
The money will be used to purchase a Rhapsody 220 Bathtub that will aid in safer care for residents.
"Bathing is a time of calm, warmth, and relaxation and involves staff members with whom there's already a level of comfort and trust,” Sharon Brown, clinical care coordinator for SLP, said.
“This new purchase is welcomed by all in the long-term care home.”
