Event organizers at the Gaslight District are thinking outside the box in hopes of attracting new ideas to the public square.
The Community Takeover initiative calls on residents and organizations to consider running programming in the space.
Everything from art classes and yoga to dance performances and cultural events will be considered.
Submissions are now being accepted for select Sundays throughout the summer months.
Use of the space is free for those selected.
The district is Waterloo region's largest public square with a permanent stage. It features the biggest outdoor screen of its kind in Canada and runs programs and events all year long.
