It's Pollinator Week and the Cambridge Food Bank will be at the Cambridge and Hespeler farmers' markets this weekend to celebrate.

The food bank will be set up with activities and information on the important role pollinators have in maintaining a healthy ecosystem.

Residents can learn about swallowtail butterflies and participate in trivia.

Pollinator-friendly seeds will also be available for planting and participants can take packets home as part of the food bank's seed share program.

Pollinators, such as birds, bats, bees, butterflies, beetles and other small mammals, aid in sustainability by helping plants reproduce through the distribution of pollen grains.

The Hespeler Farmers' Market runs on Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Cambridge Farmers' Market happens every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Galt.
