Newcomers can equip themselves with skills that will help them enter the workforce.

Settling into a new place can be difficult.

The Kinbridge Community Association is trying to make it a little bit easier with its eight-part employment webinar series for newcomers beginning July 30.

The Employment Readiness Workshops aim to equip residents with skills as they prepare for the workforce.

Each session covers a different topic that helps employees smoothly transition into employment, from how to search for a job and the interview process to proper communication techniques and adjusting to workplace culture.

Two guest speakers will also present about finances and disability accommodations.

Residents living in Cambridge who are a non-citizen, permanent resident, on a work permit, an international student or a refugee claimant and are eligible to work in Canada are able to attend.

A certificate of completion is provided that can be given to potential employers.

The webinars run from July 30 to Aug. 23 between 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Registration is free and can be done here or by emailing [email protected].
