Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency have issued a recall notice for several brands of bread and buns manufactured by Wonder Brands Inc. due to pieces of metal that may be present in the product.

The recall was issued Monday and consumers are asked not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products.

The recall is related to a previous recall issued by Compass Minerals Canada Corp. for Sifto brand Hy·Grade Salt. The salt was used in the bread and it was recalled due to pieces of metal.

The recall affects products sold in Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Affected products include Country Harvest, D'Italiano, Giant Value, No Name and President's Choice.

A full list of the affected brands is available here, including UPC codes.

Public inquiries about the recall can be made toll-free by calling 1-800-442-2342 (Canada and U.S.) or 1-613-773-2342 (local or international).
