NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF CAMBRIDGE
******************************
Following the direction from the Provincial government and Region of Waterloo Medical Officer of Health, starting Mar. 1, the City of Cambridge will no longer require visitors to city recreational facilities to show proof of vaccination.

As capacity limits are also removed, masks will continue to be required at all city facilities and physical distancing continues to be recommended.

Please follow posted signage and stay home if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

Some important reminders to help you have the best experience at our facilities:

  • Be sure to ‘Check before you Rec’ by visiting our website to stay updated on our recreation programs.
  • Pre-register is still required on some programs, be sure to continue to “Check before you Rec”
  • Players are encouraged to come ‘ready to play’ and arrive dressed to practice and/or games.
  • Masks are still required in the change room area and throughout the building unless you are engaged in physical exercise. As capacity limits are removed, we continue to recommend physical distancing wherever possible and do not gather in lobbies or hallways.
  • A cleansing shower continues to be required before swimming as per Public Health regulations.
  • We continue to strongly recommend that any food and beverages be consumed while seated in spectator areas only.

The city continues to gradually reopen our recreation programming:

The city would like to thank residents for their patience as we work through these latest changes. Please remember to be respectful of our staff and each other through this latest transition.

We will continue to monitor the situation and follow the direction of the Region of Waterloo Medical Officer of Health. The community will be updated as program and service changes are implemented.
