The City of Cambridge is asking residents to pick their favourite Cambridge 50th logo from three designs.

The City of Cambridge will be celebrating 50 years since the communities of Hespeler, Galt, Preston and Blair came together under one municipality. To mark this important milestone, a number of events are being planned with the celebration to kick off on January 7, 2023 at the Mayor’s Levy.

As the City prepares a variety of events to mark the 50th, full details will be updated on the 50th Celebration webpage and shared through the City’s social media channels.

The first point of business for the 50th is for members of the public to help select a 50th “identifier” or logo which will be used to mark 50th events and celebrations. The public is invited to view the logos online to make their choice through our Engage Cambridge platform. The form will stay open until October 21, 2022 and the winner will be announced on November 1, 2022.

“The logos were developed by students in the Conestoga College Graphic Design program,” said Julie Kalbfleisch, Director of Communications for the City of Cambridge. “We have so many important partners in our community and are appreciative of the talent and effort that these students put in to capture a design that encompasses what Cambridge means to them.”

Details about the finalists and how they came to their designs can be found on the Engage Cambridge webpage.

As details about 50th Celebration events are developed and finalized, more information will be available on the 50th Celebration Website.
