CAMBRIDGE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Chamber’s Salute to Women in Business and Silent Auction, held Jan. 22 at Tapestry Hall, welcomed 250 people and raised $16,000 for Cambridge Memorial Hospital’s Breast Reconstruction Program, a worthy cause the business organization has supported annually since 2008.
The funds represent one hundred per cent of the proceeds raised from the silent auction at the popular event, which featured an inspiring address by Spa Dent Naturals founder and CEO Marcia Hilliard-Baird. The sold-out event was attended by a vibrant and enthusiastic group of local business and community leaders.
“This money helps ensure we can have the tools we need to offer surgery locally and allow patients to access specialized care closer to home,” said Cambridge Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Greg Durocher, noting the silent auction surpassed its $11,000 fundraising goal. “It’s great to see such amazing support from not only local businesses who donated items, but the community in general.”
Approximately 60 auction items were graciously donated by local businesses, which Durocher says is a clear testament to how valuable healthcare is to the business community.
“Having the best local healthcare possible is important to creating a healthier and more prosperous community,” he said, adding this year’s contribution was the largest amount raised by the silent auction which to date has raised nearly $150,000 for this program which is a vital component of CMH’s cancer care treatment and has continually evolved to provide patients with the latest advancements.
