Expectations have always been high for gymnast Emma Spence and that will continue into 2024.
For the third year in a row, the University of Nebraska star has been named a Gymnast to Watch by the Big Ten Conference.
The Cambridge native has done nothing but impress since arriving on campus in Lincoln.
She won 14 individual titles, including five in the all-around, in 2023 en route to receiving First-Team All-Big Ten honours and being named Co-Regional Gymnast of the Year.
Spence enters the 2024 season on a high after travelling to Keerbergen, Belgium for the Gymnova Cup in November.
While overseas, she posted a total score of 13.267 in the floor event to bring home the gold medal. She also placed second in the all-around and qualified for the finals in the vault after notching a score of 13.733 before eventually finishing fifth overall.
The University of Nebraska is coming off a 2023 season where they finished with a 12-13 record and 3-6 in conference competition.
The Huskers open the season on Jan. 5 at Iowa State University.
