Cambridge Sports Hall of Fame announces class of 2024

Six individuals and three teams will be inducted at a ceremony next May

The Cambridge Sports Hall of Fame selection committee has announced its 2024 class that's set to be honoured at an induction ceremony in May.

Four athletes, two builders and three teams will take their rightful place in local sports history.

In the athlete category, national mogul team skier Jackie Brown, boxer Noah Brusso, who fought under the name Tommy Burns, and ringette players Jackie and Jennifer Gaudet head into the hall.

Author and historian Dave Menary will be enshrined in the builders category. Menary is one of the co-founders of the hall of fame and serves as its communications director.

Softball coach Bill Bauer joins Menary as a builder in the upcoming class.

All three of the teams being inducted come in the form of figure skating pairs as Lyndon Johnston and Melinda Kunhegyi, Lyndon Johnston and Denise Benning and Mark Rowsom and Becky Gough have been recognized for their achievements.

The 2024 induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 4.
