The holiday season may be over but the Cambridge RedHawks are still in the giving spirit.
The organization, along with several community partners, are teaming up for an equipment drive for families in need over the next month. The goal of the drive is to help ensure every child who wants to play hockey has the opportunity.
New and gently used equipment can be dropped off at several locations across Waterloo region, including Galt Arena Gardens, All Team Sports and the Cambridge Sports Park in the city.
Monetary donations are also being collected to purchase gear. Anyone interested in making a donation can e-transfer [email protected].
The RedHawks returned to action last week with a pair of games against the Hamilton Kilty B's.
Cambridge won the first game 4-3 and swept the home-and-home with a 7-3 victory on Saturday to move into fifth place in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League's Eastern Conference with an 18-12-2-1 record.
They'll now travel to Caledon on Friday to play the Bombers before returning home on Saturday to take on the Caledonia Corvairs.
