It's been a busy year for staff at the Cambridge and District Humane Society.
Recent numbers released on its social media channels indicated significant use of the emergency pet food bank in 2024.
In total, the food bank assisted 1,176 cats, 1,098 dogs and 36 small animals.
The program is designated for Cambridge residents and access is limited to twice a month per person to ensure supply is maintained and there's even distribution among the community.
The humane society relies heavily on community donations to assist those in need. Toys, treats and cat litter are also provided based on availability but no specific brands can be guaranteed.
The food bank will reopen on Jan. 8.
