A regular out in the community, the Cambridge Food Bank mascot can now be called by name.
"Olive" was selected after consultation with youth in the city.
The name was picked due to its simplicity, friendliness and the obvious connection to food.
"We're thrilled to share some fantastic news with all of you," the food bank said in a social media post.
"After taking some time to collaborate with our youth to brainstorm names for our mascot, we've finally chosen the perfect name. Our mascot's name is Olive and she wants to invite 'olive' you to help us tackle hunger."
The Cambridge Food Bank recently announced it will be set up at the Hespeler Farmers' Market on Fridays and Cambridge Farmers' Market on Saturdays beginning June 7.
Each purchase helps support the organization's wellness programming.
