The Cambridge Self Help Food Bank uses volunteer drivers to assist with picking up donations.

Running the Cambridge Food Bank takes a community and the recruitment of volunteers is vital to its operations.

It's currently seeking licensed drivers to assist with the pick up of donations.

Drivers are required to be available for a few hours during the week to pick up donated items from local businesses and grocery stores.

Those interested in the position must have a valid G driver's licence and be comfortable driving a cargo van.

As part of the training process, volunteers will meet with the volunteer manager and do a trial run with staff. Training is then ongoing with the food procurement and logistics manager.
