The Cambridge Food Bank will receive just under $60,000 from this year's Smile Cookie campaign.
"A heartfelt thank you to the Tim Hortons store owners, staff, volunteers who decorated cookies and the thousands of people who purchased cookies to support local charities," Dianne McLeod, executive director at the Cambridge Food Bank told CambridgeToday in an email.
The funds will support food security programs in the city.
Nutrition for Learning, a charitable organization based in Ayr, was the other charity of choice among Cambridge Tim Hortons restaurant owners. Its services offer access to nutrition programs in schools located in Waterloo Region.
In total, it supports 176 student programs across the Waterloo Region District School Board, Waterloo Catholic District School Board and the French Language Public School Board.
Each organization received 50 per cent of the proceeds.
Across the country Tim Hortons owners raised a record breaking $19.7 million for over 600 local charities and community groups from May 1 to 7.
