This weekend is the first official weekend of summer as July shines in with a grand Canada Day celebration planned.
Families will be dressed head to toe in red and white Friday as the celebrations kick off at 8 a.m. and go til the end of the fireworks show.

1. Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day
8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Riverside Park
Starting with the annual fishing derby first thing in the morning Canada Day will be filled with family friendly activities at the park. Returning back this year, the parade starts at 11 a.m. and will go down King Street, people will be lined up early to get a good spot. A midway, car show, Portraits of Honour, kids activities and more await families at Riverside Park for the nation's celebration this year.
3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
11 Tannery Street East, Hespeler
It's a Canada Day themed market this Friday. Making a return appearance at the market is MP Valerie Bradford. The MP of Kitchener South-Hespeler will have a booth at the market from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to chat with the community.
3. Newfie Reunion
Doors open 8 p.m. Friday
Cambridge Newfoundland Club
Featuring an outdoor beer garden and stage, live music, and a family day Saturday. This reunion is happening this weekend July 1 to 3, doors open 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. to close Saturday and Sunday. All are welcome to attend.

4. Second day of Midway for Cambridge celebrates Canada Day
11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Riverside Park
This year, the community can come out to the park to enjoy two days of amusement in honour of the nation's holiday. All other activities for Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day are Friday only.
5. Comedy night on Canada Day weekend
Show starts at 7 p.m.
Rhythm and Brews Brewing Company
"The EH! Comedy Tour delivers high level comedy in Canada from coast to coast. This show features three of Canada’s fastest rising comedians," as stated on the website.
7:30 p.m. to midnight
49 Queen Street East
Spice up your Saturdays with salsa, bachata and merengue. Part of the Walk Queen Street closure every Saturday. The community can explore local restaurants and shops while getting a chance to dance in the street.
