Cambridge art exhibition on full display until Nov. 10

The annual Juried Art Exhibition opened Saturday with a reception inside the Cambridge Centre for the Arts

Residents will have the opportunity to view the work of local artists until Nov. 10 at the Juried Art Exhibition inside the Cambridge Centre for the Arts.

The community was invited to an opening reception on Saturday to get a first glimpse of the artwork on display that included everything from paintings to sculptures.

Awards will be given out to the top three pieces, along with three honourable mentions as decided by juror Christine Yarmol. Yarmol has been an educator for 30 years, specializing in the arts.

First place receives a cash prize of $350, with second taking home $200 and third being given $150. The honourable mentions walk away with $100 each.

The first prize jurors award has been renamed the Jill Summerhayes Award in honour of her leadership in guiding the creation of the Cambridge Centre for the Arts. Summerhayes was also the first chair of the Cambridge Arts Guild.
