The Ontario government recently expanded eligibility for COVID-19 antiviral treatments and PCR testing.

It includes individuals aged 70 and older, those 60 and older with fewer than three vaccine doses, and individuals aged 18 and up who are immuno-compromised or have at least one risk condition and fewer than three vaccine doses.

They also need a positive COVID-19 test result and the treatment has to be administered within five days of symptom on-set.

The province announced the oral antiviral Paxlovid would be made available at participating pharmacies.

Locally, there are 73 listed in the tri-cities. It includes 21 in Cambridge, 35 in Kitchener, and 17 in Waterloo.
