An all-way stop at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Adam Street in Hespeler has proven effective at reducing collisions while keeping traffic flowing, according to city staff who will recommend council vote to make the change permanent.
The stop signs were installed on Aug. 29 last year and there have been no collisions at the intersection since.
To determine impacts on traffic flow on surrounding streets, the city set up its Miovision Scout traffic camera at the intersection in April to review traffic queues and concluded the all-way stop had no impact on nearby intersections or increased traffic congestion.
A look at the turning movement count in May examined traffic volumes over an eight hour period on a weekday.
Both results indicate the all-way stop is warranted.
