The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has suspended the liquor licence at St. Louis Bar & Grill in Cambridge for 31 days.

Four months after St. Louis Bar & Grill in Cambridge pleaded guilty to two charges under the Liquor License Act in addition to a $50,000 fine, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has suspended the liquor license at the Saginaw Parkway restaurant for 31 days.

"Following legal action taken by the Ontario Court of Justice and the Waterloo Regional Police Service, on November 22, 2021 the Registrar of the AGCO issued a Notice of Proposal (NOP) to suspend the liquor licence of St Louis Bar & Grill Cambridge for permitting drunkenness to occur and permitting liquor to be sold to someone who was intoxicated," reads a statement released Wednesday by the AGCO.

"The licence holder admitted to the infractions and an agreement was reached. As a result, the liquor licence of St Louis Bar & Grill Cambridge has been suspended from 9:00 am, February 1, 2022 until 2:00 am March 3, 2022."

The charges against St. Louis Bar & Grill were in connection to an incident in November 2019 in which a 38-year-old Cambridge man was served while intoxicated.

Jason Fach later got behind the wheel of his car and crashed head-on into another vehicle on Townline Road, killing 67-year-old Kenneth Scott of Puslinch.

Fach was sentenced to six years in prison in February 2020 and earlier this month granted full parole.

The AGCO said there have been 13 inspections completed at St Louis Bar & Grill Cambridge since January 1, 2020 and no violations were noted.

A statement on the restaurant's Facebook page says they are currently only open for takeout and delivery.
