Hacksmith Industries shows off their record-breaking 'lightsaber' at their warehouse in Cambridge

In a museum not so far away... Cambridge's own Hacksmith Industries will be hosting a May 4 celebration at the Ken Seiling Museum in Kitchener.

The YouTube star and resident engineer in all things pop culture, James Hobson will be bringing his record-breaking 'lightsabers' to the museum for attendees to get up close and personal with.

People are asked to dress up as their favourite characters and celebrate one of the biggest movie franchises in history.

Hobson has built a myriad of lightsabers throughout his engineering career along with other movie weapons and tech most thought to just be science fiction.

From a real 'Iron Man" suit to 'Captain America's' shield, the Hacksmith and his team are taking things straight from the screen and into reality, with many on display at his warehouse in Cambridge.

The museum notes that participants can enjoy a variety of galactic-themed snacks at Hazel's Cantina and even build their own droid at our 'Recycled Materials Droid Depot'.

All of these activities are included with paid admission to the museum and doors open at 10 a.m. More information can be found on the event's website
